It all started over thirty years ago when De Niro stepped foot in Matsuhisa restaurant in Los Angeles and found inspiration to establish a restaurant in New York. This vision became reality in 1994 with Nobu in Tribeca. The venture instantly became the hottest restaurant in the city, if not in the country. From there, things continued to grow, and what began as a shared love of food soon expanded into the hotel business.

There is no passion to be found playing small in settling for a life that is less than the one you're capable of living. Nelson Mandela
They say that passion is the fuel of greatness, and it could not be more true for the Nobu brand. With operations now spanning six continents, Nobu thrives in global capitals as a focal destination. Products and services share the common characteristics of unique Nobu food experiences, all in spaces that blend modern luxury and traditional Japanese minimalism with a nod to each local lifestyle.
The Nobu Hotel Collection
Nobu Las Vegas, the world's first Nobu Hotel, opened in 2013 inside Caesars Palace, designed by David Rockwell to reflect the vision of Chef Nobu Matsuhisa and Robert De Niro. The property was soon followed by Nobu City of Dreams, Manila (2014), Nobu Hotel Miami Beach (2016), and Nobu Ryokan Malibu (2017).
Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch, Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay, and Nobu Hotel Marbella opened in 2018, marking the brand's European entry. Nobu Hotel Los Cabos and Nobu Hotel Barcelona were added to the portfolio in 2019. Nobu Hotel Palo Alto relaunched after a multi-million-dollar renovation, unveiling the elevated Ryokan Palo Alto rooms, echoing the personalized guest experience of its chic sister property, Nobu Ryokan Malibu.

In the years since Nobu has continued to grow. The Nobu Hotel Chicago, Nobu Hotel Warsaw, and Nobu Hotel London Portman Square have all opened their doors, expanding the brand's signature blend of hospitality to new corners of the world.
Strategically focused on expanding its global portfolio, Nobu Hotels now stretch from Marrakech to Toronto, Atlanta to Tel Aviv, with exciting new destinations like Rome and Bangkok on the horizon.
I always try to create something new — something surprising — but with respect for tradition. Nobu Matsuhisa
True to its roots in Japanese minimalism, Nobu's approach blends contemporary design with a mindful respect for local materials and sustainability. This commitment ensures that each property feels distinct yet unmistakably Nobu, and reminds us of our shared responsibility to protect the environment and preserve the beauty of our destinations.

At the core of every Nobu Hotel is its iconic restaurant — where signature dishes like Black Cod with Miso or Yellowtail Jalapeño continue to draw locals and travelers alike, proving that a Nobu stay is as much about the palate as the pillow.
What’s Next?
With so much on its plate, this is truly an exciting time for Nobu Hotels — proof that when passion and vision meet, there really are no limits. From Tribeca to Tokyo and beyond, Nobu’s journey reminds us that true luxury is about connection — to place, to taste, and to the passion that brings people together.”
