On the Shores of Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea
Four Seasons Resort and Residences AMAALA at Triple Bay introduces a new world on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast, where mountains meet the sea and wellbeing, nature and contemporary Arabian design come together in a destination only just beginning to reveal itself.

Along a hidden ribbon of Saudi Arabia’s northwestern coast, Four Seasons leads the way into a destination shaped by the Red Sea, devoted to wellbeing, and inspired by a bold new vision of travel.

To most international travelers, the northwestern coast of Saudi Arabia is a blank spot on the map. Here, far from the familiar skylines of Riyadh and Jeddah, the Tabuk mountains tumble down to a Red Sea shoreline dotted with hidden bays, scattered islands, and crystal-clear waters. Between Al Wajh and Duba, something entirely new is coming to life.

This is where AMAALA's story begins—and where Four Seasons Resort and Residences Amaala at Triple Bay opens a new chapter in Red Sea travel.

Life here unfolds between sea and landscape, from snorkeling among coral gardens and sunrise yoga on the beach to culinary journeys inspired by the flavors of the region. Yet what makes Four Seasons Resort and Residences AMAALA at Triple Bay, particularly compelling lies beyond the resort itself.

Where the Mountains Meet the Red Sea

AMAALA extends across 4,200 square kilometers of Saudi Arabia’s northwestern coast, with Triple Bay forming its first resort community. The geography explains much of its appeal.

AMAALA has also been conceived as a year-round destination, with an average summer temperature of 32°C and little to no rainfall—a notable distinction in a region where the summer heat traditionally shapes the travel season.

Three natural bays carve this coastline, framed by the foothills of the Tabuk mountains and opening onto the Red Sea. The landscape feels worlds away from the Saudi Arabia most travelers know, and it is this very unfamiliarity that makes it so captivating.

The Four Seasons Resort and Residences AMAALA occupies 6.5 hectares along Triple Bay’s longest stretch of beachfront: 900 meters of shoreline overlooking the Red Sea. Designed by architects U+A, the resort has been conceived around its position at the interface of land and water. Arabian architectural references are interpreted in a contemporary way, while gardens planted with native species, pathways and long walking trails soften the boundaries between the buildings and the landscape. Migrating birds add another natural rhythm to the setting.

The design does not distance guests from their surroundings; instead, it continually invites them to reconnect with the landscape at every turn.

A Different Kind of Arrival

There is a unique thrill in visiting a place at the dawn of its story. AMAALA arrives without layers of legend or well-trodden traditions. There are no crowded hotel rows, no set routines, and no chorus of past visitors prescribing what you must experience.

Instead, a fresh landscape of hospitality is unfolding before your eyes.

Triple Bay will eventually bring together resorts, residences, a yacht club, marina village, restaurants and recreational experiences. Four Seasons Resort and Residences AMAALA sits close to the Yacht Club and Marina Village, while the wider destination places considerable emphasis on the surrounding marine environment.

At its center is Corallium, AMAALA’s marine life institute, housed in a building designed by Foster + Partners. Part research center, part educational experience, it is dedicated to advancing marine and coastal science while supporting the conservation of the Red Sea ecosystem. Guests have access to dedicated tours of the institute, offering a closer understanding of the extraordinary marine environment that surrounds them. It adds a new layer to every stay. The Red Sea is not just a backdrop; it is a living reason to journey here.

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Amaala at Triple Bay, Red Sea Style

Four Seasons Resort and Residences AMAALA at Triple Bay has 202 rooms, suites and villas, each with a furnished terrace or balcony and views towards the Red Sea. There is a swimmable beach, five pools and six open-air restaurants and lounges, alongside gardens and walking trails that make use of the resort’s extensive grounds.

Yet the defining theme is wellbeing. At the heart of the property is HYLIAA Wellness & Spa, a 2,095-square-meter space complemented by an extensive fitness center. The resort’s programs are organized around movement, stillness and discovery, bringing together treatments, fitness, nutrition and outdoor experiences.

Those words might echo the promises of many new luxury wellness resorts. But here the difference is in the ambition. Wellbeing is not an afterthought; it is a guiding principle shaping the entire destination. That is where AMAALA truly stands apart.

Beyond the Spa

For years, wellness travel was largely defined by what happened inside a spa: treatments, therapies, pools and carefully prescribed moments of relaxation. That definition is evolving. Now, wellbeing is shaped by our surroundings, our movement, what we savor, and perhaps most of all, what we leave behind when we set out on a journey.

At Four Seasons Resort and Residences Amaala at Triple Bay, that philosophy extends beyond HYLIAA. It might mean walking along the coast in the morning, swimming in the Red Sea, exploring its marine ecosystem, spending an afternoon in the gardens, or simply allowing a landscape of mountains and water to dictate the rhythm of the day.

Luxury is present, of course. Yet the true allure may be the abundance of space: space to roam, space to unplug, space to gaze toward a horizon that feels refreshingly unknown.

Saudi Arabia’s Next Chapter

The opening also belongs to a much larger transformation. Saudi Arabia has spent the past several years opening parts of the Kingdom to international tourism on a scale once unimaginable. Along its Red Sea coast in particular, new destinations are introducing travelers to landscapes that have remained outside conventional international tourism.

AMAALA is part of that change, but its identity is deliberately specific. Rather than attempting to become another beach destination, it is positioning itself around wellbeing, nature, and the Red Sea.

That ambition will ultimately be judged not by architectural renderings or promises, but by what the destination becomes as it grows, and by how successfully development can coexist with the environment that makes this coastline worth traveling to in the first place.

Sustainability is central to that ambition. Only 5% of the AMAALA project area is being developed in order to preserve surrounding natural habitats, while the destination has committed to delivering a 30% net conservation benefit. Four Seasons AMAALA is powered by renewable solar energy, with no connection to the national grid.

For now, there is a rare magic in witnessing a place at its very beginning.

The Allure of the Uncharted

We travel for countless reasons. Sometimes, we seek the comfort of the familiar. Other times, we crave the thrill of standing in an unknown place, discovering corners of the world that remain a mystery to us.

AMAALA is for those who seek the unknown. Four Seasons Resort and Residences Amaala at Triple Bay offers the comfort of a trusted name, but beyond its doors, you find wild mountains, secluded Red Sea shores, and a destination still unfolding—a new side of Saudi Arabia waiting to be discovered.

Maybe that is the truest reason to visit now: not just to experience a new Four Seasons hotel, but to witness the birth of somewhere entirely new.
