Perhaps it is true that sometimes you have to go halfway around the world to come full circle—and that diamonds are a girl’s best friend.
My journey began in the shimmering ateliers of Coster Diamonds in Amsterdam—a serendipitous plunge into a universe sculpted by rarity, brilliance and the alchemy of human hands. Life, with its mischievous compass, swept me far beyond those glittering origins. I crossed countries and cultures, and wore more professional hats than my younger self could ever have dreamed.
And yet, many years later, news of the opening of the De Beers flagship boutique in Dubai ignited my editorial curiosity and led me back to diamonds, drawing me once again towards a world that has always held a special place in my heart.
De Beers and Coster Diamonds: two historic names, born in the nineteenth century and shaped by generations of craftsmanship, expertise and an enduring reverence for the diamond. Amsterdam and London—two cities that have meant so much to me—and now Dubai, the city where these threads unexpectedly meet. How could I not write about it? Stay tuned.
After all, coming full circle rarely means retracing old footsteps. More often, it is about unearthing a forgotten brilliance from our past—passion itself—now refracted through the prism of new places, fresh perspectives and a wiser gaze.
